Living the High Life in San Diego

In my rather upscale neighborhood of Morley Field, I was often seen on the streets expertly coiffed and groomed by the well known stylist. 'Yuko". I had regular hair and nail appointments at Yuko's shop above University Avenue in eclectic North Park. It was after one of these appointments that I acquired the title, "Hollywood Dog", from several envious young ladies in my neighborhood.

Yuko was both an artist and a glamor tech. She was able to perform wonders with my long flowing hair although it was neither long nor flowing by the time I got out of her shop. She often went for the full fine Persian rug cut. By that I mean short, soft, shinny and silky. She also cut and shaped my signature tail to perfection. And I held it proudly. I had never been fond of having my nails done but her manicures were the best. My nails were awesome. Only Yuko and her crew could do me right. All the above was usually finished off with a colorful bandana!

This was only part of living the good life in Southern California. In between stylings at Yuko's, I was treated to a self serve bath and Blueberry facial at "South Bark Pet Shop and Salon". You might still find my picture there on the client picture board. Now, what about that blueberry facial? This was a professionally done soapy aromatic face wash that was the first step in what can only be called a refreshing experience.

I especially liked my trips to 'South Bark' because it was often followed by a lengthy, jaunt around Grape Street dog park where canines were allowed to romp, sans lead, with other dogs and humans in a protected (fenced) area adjacent to Switzer Canyon. To me this was real freedom.

So, with three walks a day, glamor treatments at 'Yuko's, Blue-berry facials at 'South Bark' followed by strolls around 'Grape St, Dog Park' I was in dog paradise. Ah.. San Diego, the High Life!

As an aside - this was just a crazy Chihuahua, named Nacho, that came to a garage s ale at 2840 Maple Street. We got all kinds there.
